Tenix Wins Refurbishment of Alaoa Hydro Power Station Project in Samoa
Tenix was recently awarded a contract for the mechanical and electrical works to refurbish the Alaoa Hydro Power Station for Electric Power Corporation (EPC) in Samoa.
This hydro plant is used by Electric Power Corporation to start the system in a total black out situation. Tenix will use a self lubrication system for the turbine allowing the hydro to be started without external power.
Mechanical works for the project require installation of a new generator and the complete refurbishment of the existing turbine. The electrical works involve the supply and installation of transformers, 22kV switchgear, controls, generator control panel, DC system, SCADA system, metering and field wiring. All mechanical and electrical works will be tested and commissioned prior to completion.
