Trainees, Tamie Ngaia, Tony Julian and James Prime from Tenix's New Plymouth and Wanganui depots competed in this year's event held by Taranaki Construction Safety Group on 12 May at the Taranaki HSE Centre in New Plymouth.
Ten safety activities were undertaken including working at heights, accident investigation and follow-up, first aid, manual handling, fire safety, personal safety, and on-site assessment among others.
Mayor of New Plymouth, Peter Tennent, presented the team with the overall winner's trophy and prizes. The team's success was due to consistent outstanding performance across all events.
Tenix Executive General Manager Jacob Bonisch says the event offered Tenix trainees a great opportunity to apply safe work practises and create new safe working experiences to draw on in future situations.
Taranaki Construction Safety Group member and BCITO Training Advisor Bruce Duggan was impressed with the teamwork and leadership displayed in each event by Tenix. "I am looking forward to Tenix defending their title next year."
