Tenix Alliance seals West Australian power partnership
April 8, 2008

Infrastructure services company Tenix Alliance has forged a new partnership with Western Power and Downer EDI Engineering to deliver the biggest capital works program in Western Power’s history.

The alliance has a potential value of more than $250 million in the first year with the work aimed at improving the safety, capacity and reliability of Western Power’s South West Interconnected System.  It will include capital works for both the transmission and distribution networks for a period of five years, with an option to extend for a further five.

“Tenix Alliance is looking forward to contributing to such a landmark undertaking,” said Greg Hayes, Tenix Alliance Chief Executive and Group Managing Director.

The alliance aims to minimise the impact of the rising cost of materials and the skilled labour shortage being experienced by businesses in Western Australia . It will also be instrumental in developing the network infrastructure required to support WA’s fast-growing population and economy.

“Tenix Alliance has been a steady employer of West Australians. Right now, we have 150 people dedicated to the alliance and we expect this to increase to around 250 employees who will be taken on to complete the program of works”, said Sean Woellner, Tenix Alliance chief operating officer.

Tenix Alliance, a part of the Tenix Group, has a history of long-term alliances to deliver energy and water infrastructure projects and has consistently promoted the benefits of working in an alliance model.

”It is an exciting time for Tenix Alliance as it continuously focuses on long-term, value-adding projects such as the Power Alliance WA that was announced today”, Mr Hayes said.
