Tenix Alliance has established a program alliance with Mackay City Council to deliver their water, sewage and other selected infrastructure projects over the next five years. The initial work packages comprise a number of key projects including; the construction of water and wastewater mains and reservoirs; wastewater pump station upgrades; and the new Mackay City Council Depot. Tenix Alliance will form a sub-alliance with Cardno and Parsons Brinckerhoff, to fast track the delivery of projects already planned by the council. Tenix Alliance CEO, Sean Woellner, said the contract confirmed the company’s strong capabilities in program alliancing and would focus on maximising opportunities for local sub–contractors. “Tenix Alliance has a strong track record of working with local government to deliver vital infrastructure projects,” Mr Woellner said. “Additionally, this contract will see Tenix and its sub–alliance partners focusing on developing and implementing asset management plans and systems for the council. “The alliance will help ensure that important infrastructure projects are delivered on time to support the growing population in the Mackay region.” Mackay City is one of the four fastest growing regions in regional Australia and the Queensland Government forecasts that with a population growth of 3 per cent a year, it will become the state’s second largest regional city behind Cairns by 2026. The initial term of the contract is five years, with an option for a five year extension available to the council.
