Construction Manager - Substations Mining

Tenix requires a suitably qualified and experienced Construction Manager - Substations Mining, to manage a substation construction project.  This position is primarily site based and will be responsible for the  co-ordination and management of site substation construction activities, including   internal resources, subcontractors, material procurement and commissioning & testing. This position will also assist with resource planning and provide input into the development of construction procedures and processes.

The successful candidate will have a suitable trade qualification and will have managed small teams in similar construction activities and experience in working within the mining environment. This position is key to the continued development of Tenix operations and a salary package will be negotiated depending on qualification and experience. This role is project based and may require rostering on a fly in fly out (FIFO) basis from Perth, to the mining site, subject to specific project requirements.

The primary focus of the role is to provide leadership to site and field staff and subcontractors to ensure that projects are delivered in a safe, timely and commercially rigorous manner. 

To be considered for this role, candidates must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: 

  • Experience in substations construction and maintenance projects
  • Expertise in site management within the electricity or construction industry
  • Have a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Have experience in working within the mining industry and mine site requirements
  • A demonstrated depth and strength of skill in subcontractor management
  • Proven ability to develop, mentor and drive a team
  • Have great communication skills, and a strong sense of teamwork, and
  • A strong focus on safety and the environment as a non negotiable priority
